Cassandra IsFree is an internationally ranked (9th in the world, to be exact) female slam poet residing in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a 2022 nominee for Poet Laureate of Alexandria, Virginia, and a poetry workshop facilitator for Write About Now Academy.
Her piece, "You Don't Want That Smoke" is dedicated to her community, targeted for too long by the tobacco industry.
I've watched friends and relatives literally smoke their lives and livelihood away. It's time for a change.
