Momma (ISIS) Bey

Momma Bey (Isis Bey) LCSW, CCTP II, TTS, is the founder and owner of IAB Consulting LLC, Harmony Health Therapeutic Services, and an adjunct professor at multiple universities. She is a national trainer and consultant with over 28 years of experience serving children and families. Ms. Bey, a nationally certified Trauma therapist, is also an NC Supervisor for Clinical Social Workers. She is currently a 2nd year PhD Student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Public Health Sciences, focusing on behavioral health. Her research interests focus on racial health disparities and the development of culturally responsive interventions. She is the Chair of Clearing the Smoke, Mecklenburg Tobacco Free Coalition, and a Research Resilience Training Program Fellow in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

Ms. Bey completed her Graduate education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is Nationally Certified as an Advanced-Level Complex Trauma Clinician, Gang Specialist, Triple P Parent Provider, and TF-CBT National Trainer, Supervisor, and consultant. She is also a Tobacco Treatment Specialist [TTS].

Aesha Binion

Aesha Binion, MPH, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Truman State University and her Master’s in Public Health from Northern Illinois University. She began her career in public health working with various community-based organizations in the Chicagoland area. But most recently, she has been with the Cook County Department of Public Health for over 15 years. During her tenure she has worked with the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program as a Health Educator and a Community Mobilization Coordinator during the COVID-19 Emergency Response. Aesha and her husband Anthony have two children, Aiden and Arie.

LaShante Boyd

LaShante Boyd is a passionate fund developer, community advocate, and emerging public health educator whose work bridges funding, education, and systems changes. LaShante channels her expertise into developing sustainable resources for mission-driven organizations but her advocacy doesn’t stop at fundraising.

 

LaShante is deeply committed to tobacco education, particularly around the targeted marketing and health impacts of menthol products in Black communities. Having lost several family members to smoking-related illness, this work is personal. She believes that menthol education is harm reduction, and sees truth-telling, access, and prevention as essential tools in the fight for health equity.

 

LaShante’s journey took her from doing whatever it took to escape her hometown to planting roots in Oakland, a city that taught her about community, resilience, and power. She is a firm believer in transformation: “What I am not today, I could be tomorrow.”

 

An unapologetic tech enthusiast, LaShante uses her digital skills to support youth, nonprofits, and grassroots movements. Her goal is to create spaces where people are free to grow, free to lead, and free to heal on their own terms.

Tyler Marie Duvernay

Tyler Marie Duvernay is a third-year medical student at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, with a strong passion for addressing substance use and its impact on marginalized communities. She currently serves as Treasurer on the executive board of the Substance Use Disorder Solutions Network (SUDSN) and is a proud member of PRIME LEAD-ABC—a mission-driven program committed to empowering future African, Black, and Caribbean physicians. Through this program, she has actively worked to reduce health disparities affecting Black patients. Her interests lie at the intersection of substance use alleviation and health policy, and she is eager to expand her knowledge and skills through the Quantum LEAP program. She looks forward to engaging with a network of dedicated individuals and gaining valuable tools to further her commitment to equitable, evidence-based care.

Dr. Abeni El-Amin

Dr. Abeni El-Amin, Ph.D. - PP/SC, Ed.D., MPHA, MHA, M.Psy, serves as the EMPOWER! Public Health Innovation Program Manager within the Department of Kinesiology & Health Promotion at the University of Kentucky’s College of Education. As President of Project Ricochet, Inc., she leads culturally responsive public health initiatives focused on tobacco prevention and cessation, particularly addressing disparities impacting African American communities. A seasoned scholar-practitioner with multiple advanced degrees and certifications, including Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) and Kentucky Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW), Dr. El-Amin combines expertise in behavioral health, community empowerment, and health equity. She has completed the American Lung Association Asthma Educator Institute™ (AEI) and is also a Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator. Her collaboration with the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council (AATCLC) amplifies youth advocacy, grassroots mobilization, and innovative programming to combat flavored tobacco use and menthol prevalence. Dedicated to systemic change and health equity, she is recognized for developing sustainable strategies such as Project Ricochet’s Barbershop and Beauty Salon Public Health Initiative, The PR Health: Farm Rx, and The Central Kentucky Black Family Conference to empower communities to achieve optimal health outcomes.

 

Dr. El-Amin has an extensive interdisciplinary research record, publishing over 70 scholarly works addressing social and public health disparities, tobacco cessation, community empowerment, and strategies for advancing health equity among African American populations. Dr. El-Amin has been recognized for her transformative public health contributions, receiving the prestigious 2025 Dr. Rice C. Leach Public Health Hero Award from the Lexington Fayette County Health Department and the 2025 Sarah Bennett Holmes Staff Award representing the University of Kentucky's College of Education from the UK Women’s Forum, as well as earning a nomination for the 2025 NAWBO Kentucky EPIC Public Policy Catalyst Award.

Ashley Herbert

Ashley Hebert, MPA, is a dedicated advocate for racial and social equity in public health. With a background as a legislative analyst and volunteer health advocate, she launched her career in government relations, working to drive systemic change through policy. Ashley has partnered with national, state, and local public health organizations and has successfully lobbied legislators across the nation to advance equitable policies in areas such as tobacco control, healthy eating, health care access, and other initiatives addressing the social determinants of health. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Louisiana State University Department of Public Administration and is a proud member of the National Black Professional Lobbyists Association.

Daria Leon

Daria Leon is a passionate civic activism and advocacy leader with ten or more years of experience organizing communities, influencing equitable policy, and developing power for marginalized voices. With a commitment to justice that spans a lifetime, she integrates grassroots organizing, coalition development, and strategic campaigning to advance systemic change.

 

Her current role, Strategic Partnerships Manager at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Daria leads national and state-level initiatives to confront tobacco-related health disparities and protect Black communities from industry harm. She brings a deep understanding of coalition-building and policy influence, previously serving with the Campaign for Our Shared Future, where she fought against anti-critical race theory and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation while championing inclusive, student-centered education policies. Volunteered for President Obama’s re-election campaign, a defining moment that cemented the belief in collective power. A graduate of Jackson State University (B.A., Political Science) and Hillsborough Community College (A.A.)

Prince Pempton

Prince Pempton is a Health Promotion & Advocacy Specialist with the Cleveland Department of Public Health, where he leads community-based initiatives focused on tobacco cessation, vaping education, and chronic disease prevention. Prince is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a Glenville High, Kent State, and Penn Western alumnus, and the owner of Royally Phit LLC, a fitness professional brand dedicated to empowering individuals through fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching. With a Master’s in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Prince combines evidence-based strategies with culturally responsive outreach to improve health outcomes across Cleveland. His work centers on equity, education, and engaging underserved populations in meaningful behavior change.

Devin Streeter

In the midst of building a fashion house, Devin held the position of Campaign Manager for Springfield Ward 4 City Council Candidate and Massachusetts State Representative Candidate, Jynai McDonald. He is the Treasurer for Massachusetts State Senator Adam Gomez and Treasurer of the Springfield Democratic City Committee. He holds the position as Program Director funded by the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program of the Department of Public Health byway of the Gandara Center, located in Springfield, MA.

 

Devin Streeter, CEO and Founder of Devin Davon LLC, began with the passion for footwear and finding it difficult to find his size in store with variety. The brand was started in 2017 in the attic of a family home and has been progressively growing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

After leaving Holyoke Community College. Devin then worked in the private sector for the military as a civilian liaison for 5 years and it was there that he stepped out on faith in the brink of the COVID-19 pandemic and started an e-commerce business self-titled, Devin Davon LLC.

Brian Trezevant II

Brian Trezevant II is a Program Manager at Making It Count CDC and serves as the Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the Detroit Wayne Oakland Tobacco Free Coalition. His journey in tobacco control and cessation began after the devastating loss of both his parents, a best friend, and numerous family members due to tobacco and menthol-related issues. Previously, he was the Program Director for the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Services, where he developed initiatives to support community well-being. Outside of Brian’s professional commitments, he is a passionate freelance photographer and a private chef, which allows him to express my creativity and love for food. Through his work, he strives to make a positive impact in the community by advocating for healthier choices and reducing the harm caused by tobacco use.

Carmella Watkins

Carmella Davis Watkins is a retired research meteorologist who spent an impressive 33 years in the field before shifting her focus to education and service. After retirement, she shared her passion for weather and science as an adjunct professor at North Carolina A&T State University, where she taught meteorology courses.

 

Carmella has been an active member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since 2015. She earned her Registered Parliamentarian credential in 2019 and became a Professional Registered Parliamentarian in 2021—reflecting her deep commitment to order, structure, and effective leadership.

 

A dedicated community leader, Carmella has held numerous leadership roles. She is the immediate past parliamentarian of the Southern Maryland Chain Chapter of The Links, Inc., and previously served as both President and Parliamentarian of the Nu Zeta Omega and Gamma Gamma Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She also served as parliamentarian for the Charles County Democratic Central Committee.

 

Currently, Carmella is the Executive Director of Ivy and Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities, Inc. Known for her knowledge and enthusiasm, she’s often invited to speak and lead workshops. Whether mentoring future leaders or guiding organizations in parliamentary best practices, Carmella brings passion, experience, and a commitment to excellence to everything she does.
